Teaching Assistant in Analytical Chemistry
Chemistry at Kemikum, with over 200 employees, is one of the largest institutions at Stockholm University.
Research at Kemikum spans all areas of chemistry, including analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic and structural chemistry, as well as organic chemistry. The research projects range from theory to experiments, from pure fundamental research to more applied projects often focusing on sustainable chemistry, as well as advanced analytical methods for chemicals and materials. Kemikum has a well-developed research infrastructure with a variety of equipment and qualified support from staff researchers.
Kemikum also hosts undergraduate education in chemistry and three master's programs: analytical chemistry, sustainable chemistry, and organic chemistry. Doctoral education is conducted in five areas: analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and organic chemistry.

Job Responsibilities
Your main task as a teaching assistant will be to prepare and lead laboratory sessions in analytical chemistry at the undergraduate and master's levels. The job also includes basic maintenance of course instrumentation, primarily GC, LC, and MS equipment, as well as leading exercises and grading laboratory reports.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a master's degree in analytical chemistry or equivalent. Practical experience in analytical chemistry and modern GC, LC, and MS instruments is required. Experience in laboratory teaching and other analytical techniques is an advantage.
Important personal qualities include being solution-oriented with a well-developed service mindset and analytical skills. The job requires good collaboration skills, independence, and the ability to communicate with both students and colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. Other requirements include good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Swedish is an advantage.
About the Employment
The position is permanent, full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.
